Questions

Forethought

Practical answers about scope, process and how we work — asked before the brief arrives, not after.

Someone sits at the long table with a coffee and reads the FAQ aloud to see if the sentences hold. These are the questions marketing leads ask most often in first conversations. Expand any entry; all answers are readable without JavaScript.

Questions answered in writing before the brief arrives.
How is a campaign engagement structured?

Every engagement begins with reading your existing materials and agreeing a written scope document. That document names deliverables, timeline, participants and sign-off rules before any critique session is scheduled.

Campaign sprints run four to six weeks with weekly working sessions. Launch programmes run twelve to sixteen weeks and include launch week support. Retainers run month to month with a standing critique rhythm agreed upfront.

Each shape is described on Weaves. The six disciplines we draw from are on Loomwork.

What does a first session look like?

No capability presentation from us. You arrive with materials; we read them aloud and mark contradictions on a shared document. The first session usually produces a draft message hierarchy — one primary proposition, two supporting points, one proof point.

Sessions happen at the studio or by video. We recommend printing materials when possible; screens hide problems that paper exposes.

Do you produce creative assets?

We set creative direction — tone, visual references, typographic restraint, photography direction — and write briefs for your production partners. We mark proofs in the Dyehouse but we do not run an in-house design studio, photography crew or video facility.

If you need a team to build assets, we can recommend partners we trust, but production contracts are separate from our engagement.

Do you buy media or manage ad accounts?

We orchestrate channel strategy: what each channel says, when it goes live, and how messages hand off between paid, owned and earned surfaces. Media buying and account management stay with your agency-of-record or in-house team.

We write media briefs clear enough for a buyer to execute without re-interpreting the campaign spine.

Which sectors do you work with?

Singapore and APAC companies across B2B software, consumer goods, hospitality, financial services and professional services. Sector matters less than brief quality and the willingness to edit in pencil.

Anonymised sketches of past work sit in the Swatchbook — category and method only, no client names.

How do retainer engagements run?

Monthly critique sessions at the studio or by video, async proof marking when new materials arrive, and brief annotation when projects land mid-month. Standing sign-off rules are agreed once and documented so production does not stall waiting for ad-hoc approval.

Retainers suit in-house teams with production capacity who need a senior strategist available throughout the year.

What is a courtyard intensive?

A half-day working session in our rear courtyard for leadership teams who need message alignment before a major campaign. Maximum six participants. Full format on the Courtyard page.

You leave with an alignment document within two working days — message hierarchy, channel mapping, and a next-step brief.

Can we visit the studio?

Yes. The studio is at 12 Kandahar Street, #02-01, Singapore 198884 — second floor, east stairwell. Sessions are scheduled in advance during Mon–Fri 09:30–18:30 SGT.

Walk from Bugis or Nicoll Highway MRT. Arrive ten minutes early on a first visit; the stairwell is easy to miss.

What should we send before a first conversation?

Current website copy, your latest sales deck, any live or recent campaign assets, and a one-page note describing the decision you need to make — not a long background document, just the fork in the road.

Send to [email protected]. We reply within two working days.

How quickly do you reply to enquiries?

Within two working days. The reply is one of three: a request for more materials before we can assess fit, an invitation to an advisory session, or a straightforward note that the brief sits outside our craft.

We do not send unsolicited capability decks. If we are not the right studio, we say so early.
